We talking about the "Allegiance Active Gamecore" program, we are sceptically about the profit of this program in relation to the Allegiance gameplay. Somebody could setups a server with a modified fraction and if he going to lost the game, he will invest in a superweapon and e will win the game in impressively way.

The ICE-project on which KGJV works and pkk is talking about also makes a little headache to me.

To give everybody the possibility to change balance between the factions and host these factions on a private server is dangerous. Especially, because there aren't any MS servers in the FZ at the moment.

Worst-Case szenario:
- I have to play on a private server, because there are no MS-servers online
- Choosing factions (maybe IC vs. GIGA) and game starts
- Im Commanding my Team and we are going to win (happens seldom enough )
- A Gunship (Bomber or whatever) suddenly appears and blows everything out of space without getting hurt by my heavy interceptors.

Is it a with ICE modified Gunship or are my pilots so bad?
No-one will know it but the most players on my team will leave the game. The suspicion of cheating will kill the game. ICE gives this possibility for cheating.

Yes that was a concern a few of us had when we started that part of the project. It has been determined that a select few will be given ICE less than 5, probally KGJV of course, Me and maby somone else, As this will be a really Dev tool it wont be given out at all.

Thers is some securety in the file it produces. File name, and build number and Date must be exact match. If not you It will produce an error for anyone trying to join a server w/o the correct file.

Even with those though, we are going to be taking extreme caution with that program.

as far as US only profiting from it.. Yes that is where our servers will be but they are on really nice connections. you should be alble to play on them eays, KevDude does all the time and he is in eruope.

Which operating system do you both use? If it is Win98 (SE), do you have VB6 runtime installed?

After a reinstallation of Allegiance and the installation of VB6 the MA-Switcher works fine on my system

My Version worked well, but I didnt see any differents in the my allegiance vers.

funtime 70 thats the Persmission denyed error.
You get this when you have some other program trying to access something from your alleg dir, even if its just my computer or windows explorer.

try making a short cut of it to the desktop. and then restart windows and DO NOT OPEN anything. just click your shortcut and see if it works.

Also try downloing the windows installer package one of the 2 larger versions available off the site.
