E-bay items for my MC are alway available in Germany but, language and shipping is always a challenge.
Anyone willing to help out?

Maybe I should mention I would be willing to pay for this service too...
Main problem: it is freaking huge. I don't even know how to ship this kind of stuff!

You charter a motor boat and off you go!
a gb motor boat of love, travelling to canada... wait for me
such large bulky items are VERY hard to ship... DHL i believe can do something like this but packaging this item properly and shipping can sometimes cost more than the time itself
Or we could use this: (http://www.goerntkai.de/images/scotland2007/07-11-Mittwoch/03-UrquhartCastle/Tribok.jpg)

Sorry for my ignorance, but do you not have a UPS store there? (or does DHL do packaging too?)
Could you find out for me?
But thanks Grimm, for the thought , I would need to win the auction 1st anyway, but....
The windshield would come off get wrapped up then put inside, the "lowers" (bottom 2 legs like things) come off too along with the mirrors and signal lights, so it would be about 750 cm X 750 cm when packed up.
This is just one of the many items that do come up from time to time, I was able to get a seat (sitzbank?) from Germany to me via International mail and it only cost me 22 euro.
But again language, shipping and payment (this guy takes paypal so no problem there) is often an logistical nightmare.
Having a friend in the area would help tons.
Barri, these are extremely rare, especially over here, and are no longer made, so it would be pretty hard to define a decent price, but I' pretty sure shipping wouldn't be more that about 75 euro.
Finki the idea is to get it to me in usable condition
Well, I can do it, if you want to. I wont be at home a lot in march though. I have a business trip coming up and then a vacation. I could do this in april though.
Well the auction ends in a day or so.
If I win it I would need your address (PM obviously) then I would pay the 25E to have it shipped to your address.
From there (it should already be packed) you would just need to forward it to me.
Shouldn't be too hard. At least I hope it isn't.
Could you read over the auction for me? I think that is a 25E to package a ship in Germany via DHL..is that correct?
Yep.
Guys, i ship stuff all over the world all the time for my job. Some things to remember:
- You have to take in consideration that there *will* be customs to pay. CowTown, be prapared to pay *al least* your local VAT rate on the price declared for the package. So, make absolutely sure you label the contents as "used parts" and claim a value of some fiftyish or so bucks. Don't go below that, they won't believe you if the package is large and then open it. Then the custom cops will then demand an invoice from Cow and charge him the proper tax + hefty fine. ( Or maybe he will get v& + b& ;D )
Read here:
http://www.ups.com/content/ca/en/shipping/cost/zones/customs_clearance.html
- Do *NOT* use DHL. Use UPS. UPS does their own customs declarations whereas DHL hands it over to the local customs creeps.
Sorry to burst your bubble, but this is definately not the planet of the free...
No bubble burst, I am fully aware.
GST would only be on the declared value and if it is marked as a "gift" there would be no tax at all.
I disagree with your comment about UPS they charge exorbitantly high rates for their brokerage, although they "may" have better service.
Agreed, but labeling something as gift is a sure-fire way of them opening it. Especially if the package is huge.
EDIT: Nice bike btw. They don't make em like that anymore.
Thanks Gleip
And thanks for the offer Grimm.
I slept trough my alarm and didnt even get the chance to bid, (auction ended at 3am ish for me)
Too much tequila last night I guess..(http://www.wtv-zone.com/rosebuds/graphics/smiley/c-d/drinking-shots_ani.gif)

Oh well maybe next time the seller will be willing to ship, out of the country..
