The best part of the shoutbox was that stuff got deleted after a week or so. So if we get leaked like XT the drama would be much lower.

So, I dug around the inner corners of my Hard Drive at work and found a folder marked Allegiance?
It was filled with stuff I downloaded at the office before I had internet at home around 2001-2002. Mostly crap, but also an archive of "New" maps from 2002. I compared it to TheBored Comprehensive list http://pk.dras.us/users/TheBored/Maps.html (http://pk.dras.us/users/TheBored/Maps.html)and some of them where not on his list, perhaps with a good cause, I don't know.
There are maps like Enima, TPSupa by Tpaganj, EVE by NoodleNT, Belt and Quack by WasFired etc.
Does anyone think I should pass these on, or should I just let dust continue to settle on them until I need the disk space for something else?

Fixed. Many players reach 5, sometimes 6 without learning anything just by consecutively joining winning teams, or being booted. Many players don't get booted for quite a while, they don't know enough to get in a situation where they can do something stupid, instead they just fly scouts randomly and stumble across enemy stuff by mistake.

If someone shoots at me, and they are not eyed while shooting (cloaked SF + snipers), will I hear the shots if they miss? Obviously I know if they hit me, but if they just miss me will I hear them pass by?

Today's record in the only game I played today, was flying for Nightstream (expansion) vs Spideycw (expansion):
3 miner kills (one solo with 2 ints defending, two leading the charge).
Two base captures with HTT
One base kill with galvs (got a sup for late-game power - hull upgrades mostly, later galvs to clear the map)
About 3-4 miner saves with a nan scout.
4 sectors probed with EWS3.
about twice as man kills as ejects, and about as many assists as kills.
Maybe not the best I've ever flown, but probably my best game stats-wise.

xc3 is a fine core, although I dislike the absence of treasures, as this seems quite a nerf for Belters and Bios.
That said, cc11 is also a fine core (although I dislike the over-poweredness of interceptors).
The only bad thing I see is that people need to memorize two sets of obscure rules instead of one.
IMHO, people should stick to flying whatever core they are given and learn to do it well, instead of whining.

Replacing gun's with Gatling guns to reduce damage somewhat and also encourage people buying SUP's.
We should have a Stealth Tower GA or something under TAC as well.

Regarding Area of effect weapons in allegiance:
How does AoE work in allegiance? If a weapon with AoE damage hits directly, does it deal both direct and AoE? How far can a shot miss and still cause AoE damage, or is this variable in the core? Is there a damage reduction as the Aoe shot gets farther from the target, or does it deal full damage all the way to the edge of it's AoE bubble?

Today I left my daughter at daycare at nine am. Took a 30 minutes walk with my son in the pram to a caffe, bought a take away latte, strolled back home in 45 minutes while my son got to see, buses, lorries and other big machines (kept him interested). Not bad altogether. Now if he would have not woken up a t 5.40 in the morning I might have had some strength to play Allegiance to :mrgreen:

Shoulder to shoulder with okay I managed to crawl over the barrier and is now ranked two (2) again :D after participating a few minutes on the winning side in two PUG's.

I played 4 PUG's. Lost 2 (only one registered despite both "... game completed" message) and won 2 (thanks okay!) (only one registered again). All game on Mach 2 from around 20.00 CET to 22.00 CET. I went from 3.3 to 3.4 on the ranking.

I unfortunately still either have other stuff I need to do at SG time, or no computer, or no internet. Maybe next week, or the week after. Probably not in july or august, but september I should have time.

Was such an event expected? It seemed like a huge number of police to have waiting at the side of the field for the end of the game.
Maybe I missed part of it not understanding the announcers - it looked like fans ran onto the field after the game, threw some flares, were chased off the field by a ton of police, and some were arrested for it?

That what we used to say when I was active in the scout movement. Appropriate clothing for a blizzard is a house with central heating by the way :lol:
When being covered in a snow drift a shovel can be quite useful, creating a smell "den" for yourself to hide in. Be sure to try and create a "breathing hole" though :wink:
Anyway, I hope spring will settle the score next week.

Stuff like this is why I miss playing alleg with you guys. Then I was bored so I skimmed the alleg.net forums and remembered why I left.
There are days I'm bored and miss this game, but not enough to ever pick it up and play again. Maybe I would if the community-based problems were solved-ish, not even the negativity but the no-players-online and no-commanders-available. Thinking back though, other then when I was a complete newbie, I would probably estimate that I actually enjoyed about 1/4 of the PUGs I played. The last game I played was a ton of fun, and I remember leading most of the major offensive charges and winning the game with a just-in-time devastator. I don't want to come back only to play a series of games that are piles of shit.
In other news, life is generally decent. Same stuff at school, I'm spending the summer working at a sailboat repair shop. We do stuff like this:

I'm not sure what else to say - I wish there was a decent alleg to come back to if I wanted to play, and I feel bad for you guys who work so hard to keep it alive, but its not something I intend to open up again. On that note, I've (not on purpose, it just sorta happened) stopped playing video games completely over the past few months. Its not so bad and when it comes down to it, I'd rather spend my time reading a good book or hanging out with friends IRL. Half the reason or more (I realize now) I played alleg was the friends I had with GB, but I don't need alleg for that.

The boat in that picutre is Raven, an 8mR class (not actually 8 metres long). She's been travelling around lately - she won the world championship for her class in 2010, and is now racing in Germany.

I am am currently Reading Metro 2033 and I think that Zombie stuff is only half as scary as what is described in the book (I recommend it for reading, but not after dark...).
Nice, a Dragon class boat, which was actually what I was looking at, not a Neptune cruiser, which is of similar size and build. My memory is failing again.
Well, this boat had been badly handled for years and spent the last 10 years on shore with poor coverage. I got friend drive me to it to take look at it (I had no drivers license back then) and with a knife I probed the wood works.
There where many cases of bad rot on the keel but the hull itself seemed more or less ok, no evidence of rot through any of the planks though all varnish was flaking and there was superficial rot on say 50%.
The Deck was more or less rotted away, also parts of the "cabin". The fastening points for the wires holding the mast in place where badly eaten away by rot (wood) and rust (iron fastenings).
The boat was torched since the neighbours had been complaining some years of all the scrap on this persons yard and he finally decided to clear it out .
I would probably lost an infinite amount of time on that boat, not to talk about money. Now I spent that time sailing plastic boats instead.
Those drugs you linked to looks more harmful than good, but if you are an idiot to start with I suppose you go for the "High" without thinking of it's consequences.
